Summer Opportunities:

Posted 2-1-2013:

If you were born between June 21, 1995 and June 16, 1999 and enjoy conservation and the outdoors, likes to fly fish, or would like to learn, you are eligible to participate in the 2013 Rivers Conservation & Fly Fishing Youth Camp which will be held June 16-21, 2013 at Allenberry Inn and Resort on the famous and wonderfully fishable Yellow Breeches Creek in Boiling Springs PA. The camp is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Chapter of Trout Unlimited and offers many opportunities during the week for participants to learn about stream ecology, coldwater fisheries conservation, and all aspects of fly fishing. All sessions are taught by people who are know regionally (if not globally) as some of the best in their field. Donegal Trout Unlimited, one of our local TU chapters, has a generous tradition of sponsoring 2 students from the county and covering their $350.00 tuition. We have sent a number of students to the camp over the years and they have always returned excited about what they have learned, the people they have met, and the skills they have developed. If you are interested, just fill out this linked form, complete a short essay, and submit both to DTU by way of the address below. Please note that the deadline on the form (March 31, 2013) is not the same as DTU’s deadline for submission. Your deadline is March 1, 2013. DTU needs time to process the submitted forms, select the two students they wish to sponsor, and forward those forms along with their payment to PATU. Click on this link to see this year’s RCFFYC brochure for some more information about the camp. Remember to follow the application info in this email, not on the brochure, if you are interested in having DTU cover the fees for the camp. Please let me know if you have any questions. Good luck, and please let me know if you are selected.

Send applications to:
